Hello, It's been quite awhile since my last blog. The Writers Block has not been down for the count. In fact we will be celebrating our sixth year anniversary. We will also honor the memory of beloved member Isis Origi Nile who passed away two years ago Jan 20,2013. The Writers Block has had the pleasure of being on WRSU Rutgers Radio African New Dawn show. Once May 2014 and returned again for Kwanzaa show December 28,2014. It was a wonderful experience for us. Also November 16,2014 the Writers Block was apart of a great eveent. It was called an evening of jazz singing and spoken word at Venue 1850 in Somerset,NJ. The event was a success! In the 2015 year the Writers Block hopes to accomplish more big things. Soooo if you have talent come out and help us celebrate our sixth year anniversary. No explicit content. All interested performers can contact me at tanishajacob@gmail.com or thewriterblock@ujamaapoets.com or 848-228-9798.
